Catherine Ford Sori is an Associate Professor in the Division of Psychology & Counseling at Governors State University in University Park, IL, and Associate Faculty at the Chicago Center for Family Health where she teaches in the Families, Illness, and Collaborative Healthcare Program.

Dr. Sori received her Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Purdue University West Lafayette and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Clinical Member of AAMFT, and an AAMFT-Approved Supervisor.

Dr. Sori specializes in training counselors to work with children in family therapy, and treating children and families experiencing illness and bereavement. She is co-editor (with Lorna Hecker, Ph.D. & Associates) of The Therapist's Notebook for Children and Adolescents: Homework, Handouts, and Activities for Use in Psychotherapy; and The Therapist's Notebook II: Homework, Handouts, & Activities for Use in Psychotherapy; The Therapist's Notebook on Integrating Spirituality in Counseling, Vol. 1 and 2(with Karen Helmeke, Ph.D.) (Haworth, 2006), and editor of Engaging Children in Family Therapy: Creative Approaches to Integrating Theory and Research in Clinical Practice (Routledge, 2006). She is currently working on The Therapist's Notebook, Vol. III.
